July 4 is Independence Day for Americans, and the holiday is usually spent with friends and family and lots of fireworks. But you might not be interested in that kind of thing or be afraid of the dangers it could bring.
If that’s the case, you can easily celebrate by watching American movies or playing American games. These names must have some kind of American feel to them, talk about American topics, be patriotic, or just have a strong sense of being American. Some of these games even have the President of the United States in them, so you can play them to celebrate the holiday.
Metal Wolf Chaos
Metal Wolf Chaos, made by FromSoftware, is one of the most funny games with an American theme, and it didn’t even come out in the West at first. For a long time, it was only available in Japan on the original Xbox. In 2019, it came out again on newer devices.
This seems even stranger when you think about how ridiculously over the top American pride is here. Even though it was made by the same company that later made Dark Souls and Elden Ring, it’s not as good as those games, but it’s still fun.
Saints Row 4
Like Metal Wolf Chaos, Saints Row 4‘s American pride is a bit silly, but this time it’s clear that it’s all in fun. You play as the President of the United States and have to defeat a new group of alien invaders called the Zin. This is a big change from the first game, which was based in reality.
Saints Row 4 is a controversial game among fans because it is set in a completely fantasy world. But it’s still a great open-world game on its own, just like the ones that came before it. Even now, it’s still a lot of fun to fly around and shoot these strange and cool guns.
Bad Dudes
Bad Dudes has to be one of the most cheesy video games from the 1980s. The game play in the better arcade version is pretty good, but the opening and closing cutscenes are what really make the game famous.
A Secret Service agent starts the game by telling the two heroes that the President has been taken hostage. He then asks them if they are bad enough to save him. At the end, you go out for a burger with the President, which is a nice way to end things. That is as American as it gets.

When it comes to American movies, there aren’t many like Rocky, which is a true comeback story both on and off the screen. There have been many Rocky games, and the first one is one of the best. The best was the Rocky game for PS2, Xbox, and GameCube that came out in 2002.
It’s very true to the movies; it even has scenes from them and the Rocky music. Rocky plays like other fighting games from that time, and it still plays well today. Even though the images are old, that’s what you’d expect from a sports game from 2002. It’s still fun to play alone or with friends, and the sequel Rocky Legends is also worth a look.

Games about World War II just aren’t made like they used to be. Call of Duty 2 is a great World War II game that hasn’t lost any of its dramatic power. You can play as the Soviets, the British, or the Americans. You start with the Soviets and end with the Americans. Infinity Ward saved the best for last. Some of the most memorable scenes and set pieces in the game happen in the American campaign.
You start by going through D-Day, and the most important part is when you have to fight off waves of troops on Hill 400. It’s a tough battle and a famous “hold the line” part that Call of Duty campaigns would become known for. With its realness and score that sounds like a movie, it’s a unique experience that makes you want to thank the real people who risked their lives for freedom.
Duke Nukem 3D
Duke Nukem 3D came out in 1996. It was the first FPS game to have a main character who could talk. Duke was a joke about the action stars of the 1980s and 1990s, especially Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Ash from Evil Dead. Even the famous box art is a tribute to the Army of Darkness image. He’s an American badass who likes women, drinks beer, and wants to send the aliens back to where they came from.
Duke 3D is still a great first-person shooter, mostly because it has great level design and a great weapons. You can play it on almost anything these days, and if the core game doesn’t feel American enough, there’s the Duke It Out in D.C. addition. After the aliens take over the White House, you must save the president.

In the second Metal Gear Solid game, there are a lot of strong American themes. Even though the game is a good stealth-action game with great boss fights, it takes a while to get used to how to play it. This game stands out because of its story and its many themes, such as fake news, not giving out information, memes, banning, AI, and more.
The ending of the title hits hard because it had to be changed at the last minute because of what happened on September 11. 8 Ball Pool ends with a call to action and a sweet boss fight on top of Federal Hall. Even though the things that happen in the game are pretty sad, Snake tells Raiden and you to do something to make things better for the next generation. It’s definitely moving and kind of patriotic.
Assassin’s Creed 3
Assassin’s Creed has always been a historical game that takes place in different times. Assassin’s Creed 3 takes place during the American Revolution. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin are among the historical people in the game.
It’s not one of the best games in the series, but Assassin’s Creed 3 is still good, and you can learn a lot from it. Some people learn a lot about history from the Assassin’s Creed games, but even if you already know a lot, they’re still fun to play. Since it is a Ubisoft game, it is also often on sale.
